Default Spanish vs. English

I've been told that the Spanish exam is given in both Spanish and English. I've also been told that the Spanish exam has a different series of questions than that of the English one.

Is there any truth to this?

It is my understanding that the state exam is given in either English or Spanish. I do not believe that a test taker can switch between the two languages while taking the exam. There are several different versions of the state exam in English. It is my understanding that the testing company has simply translated a couple of them into Spanish.
