I'm interested in becoming an agent but I have a background that includes a felony charge that resulted in the adjudication withheld. Can my application be approved?

Please note that the following reply is only an opinion and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Unfortunately, the only way to find out if the state will approve or deny an application is to submit the application. Having a felony on a record certainly does not disqualify an applicant from licensure. Having the adjudication withheld would probably weigh in favor of the applicant. The applicant should be sure to disclose all relevant facts concerning the conviction when filing the application. I hope that this information is useful to you.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I understand it can only be an opinion but it's an educated one.
Another question: How long does the application process take? Thanks for your responses. |

It usually takes the state between two and six weeks to approve applications. With a conviction on record, it will likely be closer to the six week end of the estimate.
