Candidates for Florida’s real estate exam have to work hard to pass the exam. In October, 2006 the pass rate for first-time test takers for the sales associate exam was 47 percent, so more than half of the candidates sitting for the exam were unsuccessful. Statistics show that 72 percent of the sales associate candidates retaking the exam fail. Florida’s broker candidates taking the exam for the first time did a little worse, with a 40 percent pass rate. Re-takers passed 35 percent of the time. During 2005 and 2006, Florida’s pass rate fluctuated between 42 percent and 48 percent. The moral of the story? Do not underestimate the difficulty level of the state exam!
