Default Moved to Florida

I need to know what to do in order to get a license in the state of Florida. I hold an inactive, in good standing license from the state of Georgia. I moved here about a month ago and want to get my license here. Do I have to go through everything all over again? Please help.

Default Moved to Florida from Georgia

Florida and Georgia have entered into a mutual recognition agreement. This means that Florida will accept a licensees education from Georgia. However, for a licensee to be eligible for mutual recognition, the licensee must NOT be a Florida resident. Once a licensee moves to Florida, they are no longer eligible for mutual recognition and must complete the 63-hour sales associate pre-license course and be approved to sit for the state exam. Essentially, once a Florida resident, one will have to start from scratch.

With all that being said; if one has been actively licensed as a salesperson in any state for at least one year, under one or more brokers within the past five years, that person would be eligible to skip the sales associate education and go directly into the broker education. The steps are essentially the same to become a broker, except for it requires 72 hours of education.

I hope that this information is of use.
