Default Prelicensing Question

I am a bit confused...I took the prelicensing sales associate course with your school in June 2005. My authorization notice gives me 'til April 26, 2007 to take my test. This will be my first time taking the test. The special note on my authorization notice states that one must take the test at least once prior to the year anniversary of the course's end date. If not, you must reapply to the Florida Division of Real Estate, doing the whole process over again. When I called your school this am, the woman who answered said that all I had to do was take the test prior to my deadline date. The app. process took 6 weeks the last time, this could put me past or right up to April 26th! Please help. Thanks, Lynne

Default application process

If the pre-licensing course was passed on 6/12/2005, the education is valid for two years. In other words for the education to be valid for licensure, the state exam must be passed by 6/11/2007.

The application to the state is valid for one year. If the applicant takes the state exam in that year and does not pass the exam, the application will remain open for one more year. Here's an example: An applicant submits an application on 4/26/2005 and is approved. The applicant must take the state exam by 4/25/2006. If the applicant takes the state exam between those dates and is not successful, the application will remain open for an additional year until 4/25/2007. If the state exam is not attempted by 4/25/2006, the applicant will need to reapply with the state to be eligible to sit for the state exam.

Due to the new electronic fingerprinting requirement, the state is processing applications much more rapidly; usually between two and four weeks.
