What is the difference between a realtor and a real estate sales associate? And for that matter, what's the difference between a salesperson and a sales associate and a broker?

A Realtor is a member of The Board of Realtors. Both sales associates and brokers can be Realtors. A sales associate is a salesperson. The state recently changed the technical term for salesperson to sales associate. A broker is a licensee who acts as an intermediary between two parties and negotiates contracts between them. A sales associate is a licensed individual who, for compensation, is employed by a broker or owner developer.
