Default online vs. offline

I'm trying to choose whether to go to a physical real estate school, in Jacksonville or do it online. Online is better for me but if future employers are going to judge me on where I took my pre-licensing courses I would like to know. Do you know of any negative results for former students who tried to find a job afterwards? And do you guys help with career placement? Thanks!

I have never heard of a new sales associate being turned down for a postion at a real estate firm due to doing the education online. Real estate companies are looking for licensed agents with good character. The best part is that you do not need to take my word for it; call a couple local real estate companies and ask them if they judge potential new sales associates by how they completed the required education.

As far as job placement is concerned, the state has strict rules which do not allow classroom recruitment. To ensure that we are in full compliance with the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC), we do not have a job placement program.

I hope that this information is useful to you.

Don't do it online. I did and even though I am a motivated person it took me much longer than if I had just done classes. What should have taken a month or so took me 8+ months to complete, because life gets in the way and you never find time to just sit down and do the reading. I wish I'd gone to classes too so I could have an instructor explain certain laws better. I am taking the prep weekend course before the state exam live and in person so I can get a refresher, but it took me so long than now I am forgetting some laws and things from the first few chapters of the course. Just buckle down and attend the classes, trust me.
