What is the Florida Real Estate Commission?

The Florida Legislature passed Chapter 475 of the Florida Statutes in 1925, creating the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC). The Commission is a consumer protection agency with broad powers to regulate licensees. The Florida Real Estate Commission has the duty to advance the education of licensees in ethics, law, and brokerage practices. The FREC governs the conduct of licensees, and has the power to investigate and discipline licensees who violate the law. Vigorous enforcement of real estate laws protect Florida consumers.
