In the National Association of Realtors Member Profile, it shows the continuing trend that “women rule!”
In to 1960s and 1970s, men tending to be in real estate in the greatest numbers, especially as broker/owners. The trend is strongly in favor of the women, according to the latest studies. Overall, there are more women than men in real estate. Women brokers outnumber men 55% to 45%.
Some experts attribute the trend to women forsaking the traditional corporate jobs for the greater flexibility of real estate. Many women who would otherwise be top executives in the business world have opted to be their own boss, and often become the owners or managers of brokerage firms.

The typical REALTOR® is a 52 year old female sales agent. She is married and resides in a household consisting of two people. She has a typical household income of $101,400. Like the vast majority of all REALTORS®, she owns her home.
