Governor Crist recently signed legislation that increased the broker experience requirement. Previously, a sales associate had to work under a licensed broker for at least 12 months during the preceding 5 years. The required experience was increased to 24 months effective July 1, 2008. Candidates with 12 months experience who submitted their applications prior to July 1, 2008, will be approved for testing under the old law.
